Sticker shock…we all get it. But what if I told you we can break it down to being only 6¢ more per laundry load?
As we are breaking this down, remember…
1. There is a unspoken cost to applying chemicals to your body day after day, year after year. This is something you cannot quantify, but in general, the more chemicals you absorb through your skin, the more your health will be effected.
2. Cheaper brands at better deals have hidden cost. This cost usually translates into either time, energy, or health. With essentials oils, it can effect family health, efficiency, equipment such as diffusers, and foods.
3. Higher quality products will result in a higher quality of life and generally are more efficient.
None of these points can be calculated into these formulas, so just keep them in mind. Lets get started.

What is amazing about Young Living is the ease in transfer buying. This is where you pick one or two things a month to replace in your home with natural products. One of the easiest products to replace is your laundry soap. My favorite Thieves Laundry Soap retails for $38.82 and is available at a wholesale price of only $29.50. We are going to compare this to one of the leading brands of natural laundry soap from one of the more affordable big box store you can shop at. We are not going to mention any names, but you can see pricing information from here. This bottle is advertised at 66 loads which costs 18¢ per load. The Thieves Laundry Soap advertises 64 loads which breaks down to 46¢ per load. STICKER SHOCK! Wait, I told you we were going to bring it down to 24.5¢ per load and we are going to do it.
Here is something that is easy to do that doesn’t effect quality, and works like a charm. Empty out 2 cups of your laundry soap (save for later, mason jars work great). In your half empty container of laundry soap add 2 cups of distilled water and just 3 capfuls of Thieves Cleaner and Viola! We doubled our laundry soap bringing the cost per load to 24.5¢ per load! This includes the 1.5¢ for the 3 caps of Thieves Cleaner.
BONUS! FREE FROM SLS
IS Sodium Lauyrl Sulfate Safe? SLS is also found in toothpaste, mouthwash, makeup, body wash and shampoos. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) is one of the common ingredients used in shampoos. There are tons of articles of the dangers of SLS from creditable sources. The good news is that these bad effects and other dangers can be completely eliminated by using natural and safe products.
